To begin the job-seeking process, find a position that interests you online. The main JYSK website will direct you to the career site in your country of choice. You can upload your resume or log in with LinkedIn or Smart Profile.

JYSK’s PI Assessment

Within about a week of submitting your application, you will receive a link. This link is to a brief video interview, which will be discussed in the Interview section, and to the online assessment tests.

Online testing is used to make sure time is spent on the applicants with the best potential, and who are best suited for the job being applied for. Job-seekers can expect to take a cognitive assessment test as well as a personality survey.

PI Cognitive Assessment

The Predictive Index Cognitive Assessment, also known as the PLI, will be used to determine an individual’s critical thinking skills, ability to learn and use new information, and ability to comprehend complex concepts. The test includes 50 questions, and you will have 12 minutes to complete as many questions as possible. The entire test is multiple-choice. After completion, your score will be compared to that of the other test-takers to determine the average score. The test is scored on a scale of 100-450. A combination of several cognitive abilities will be used to determine your score.

  • Numerical Reasoning Number sequences and word problems will be used to show your skill with numbers.
  • Verbal Reasoning This will test your reading comprehension and communication skills. You will need to identify synonyms and antonyms, interpret analogies, and use information from a brief passage to come to conclusions.
  • Abstract Reasoning You will need to use logic to solve the sequences of shapes and matrices and spot the similarities in different figures.

Personality Survey / PI Behavioral Assessment

Even the best employee will fail to flourish in the wrong environment. To prevent this, personality surveys are used to make sure potential hires will fit into the team. These multiple-choice inventories use the Five-Factor model to build a profile of your strengths and weaknesses. The profile will be based on the subcategories of the five major personality traits. These traits are conscientiousness, extraversion, neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness. Your profile will be compared against a model profile for your desired job.

Interviews

Your first interview for a position with JYSK will be a video interview. The link will be sent at the same time as the online assessments. This video interview will be very brief, possibly as short as two questions. If this interview and your assessment test scores are suitable, you will be invited for an in-person interview.

How to Prepare for JYSK’s PI Assessments?

Make yourself stand out from the competition by taking time to study and get yourself ready to sit for the exams. Work on solving word problems and learning how to identify different types of number sequences. You can increase your vocabulary with crossword puzzles and taking a few minutes a day to read a few pages of non-fiction. Use apps designed to strengthen cognitive function as a tool. Many of these are timed, which will also get you accustomed to taking tests under pressure.

To give the hiring team true insight into your work style and personality, be honest on the personality inventory. Attempting to “cheat” the test by answering in a way you think is positive, can lead to unbalanced and undesirable results. Honesty and professionalism are the most important thing to keep in mind when taking personality tests.
