What Is the Hiring Process at ASMPT?

Online Application

Joining the ASMPT team requires a simple application detailing your education and work experience. You will upload a detailed and tailored CV showcasing the specific skills and experiences necessary for that role. Lastly, you may answer some general questions, such as why you’d be a good fit for the team and why you are interested in working for ASMPT.

The hiring team will then review your application to determine your eligibility. If you pass the initial screening, you will graduate to the assessment portion of the recruitment process.

 

Assessments

ASMPT requires several pre-employment assessments during the hiring process. These aptitude and psychometric exams will give the hiring team a better understanding of your skills, characteristics, personality, and learning abilities. Depending on your role, you may take one or more of the following exams:

  • Numerical Reasoning Test: The mathematical reasoning exam will assess your understanding of basic mathematical principles and ability to solve problems using basic calculations and data. The test will present a mixture of word problems and equations you will need to solve and graphs, tables, and charts you must interpret and answer questions about.
  • Mechanical Reasoning Aptitude Test: Mechanical reasoning exams test your understanding of various mechanical and physical properties and ability to apply that information to solve problems. Many of these questions are diagrammatic, so be sure to include those types of questions in your preparation.
  • Verbal Reasoning Test: The verbal reasoning exam will assess your ability to read information and apply that knowledge to draw logical conclusions. You will read through several paragraphs and answer questions about the context.
  • Pre-Hire Personality Test: The personality test is a questionnaire where you respond to various statements with how much you agree or disagree with each one. This will assess your personality traits, values, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • SJT Test: The situational judgement test (SJT) will assess your values, motivations, and workplace behaviours. The test will present a simulated scenario similar to one you may encounter while working at ASMPT and ask you to choose the most effective and appropriate response from the given options.
  • Skills-Based Exams: Several roles will also require you to take tests on specific skills needed for the role. For example, someone applying for an engineering role may need to answer questions about tasks they will be completing within that field.

 

Interviews

The last stage of the ASMPT hiring process is the final interview. This conversation will be mostly about your past accomplishments, workplace behaviours, and competency to perform the tasks required for the role. You must showcase your strengths during this discussion and show the interviewer why you would be the best person for the role.
